Experience San Diego wildlife in a fresh way – both freshwater and saltwater environments are within reach. Volunteers Elizabeth Venrick + Bob Chaddock lead your nature walks.

Whether you’re interested in birds, mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians, or invertebrates, the San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve has 1,000+ species to learn about – and spot in their natural habitat. Join us for a new adventure every month!

    PARKING: Find the trailhead at the end of Rios Ave, where you also find on-street parking. Look for a kiosk with information about the lagoon.
