High School Students Have Career-Shaping Experiences

With the support of the AT&T Foundation Aspire grant, we are making a difference in the leadership development of high school students.

The $20,000 Aspire grant helps us invest in under-served teens by folding them into our mentorship experiences. We are helping them build confidence in public speaking, conservation actions, and providing access to innovators in the fields of environmental science, green energy, and habitat restoration.

Some of our students will have the opportunity to apply for a paid summer camp internship. This provides real world experiences where they will mentor middle school students. And, others will have the opportunity to co-present with us at the national Association for Equality & Excellence in Education conference — giving them a stage in next steps for college and career.
Our high school mentees will also connect with middle and elementary students at family interactive experiences we host throughout the year.

AT&T Foundation is committed to supporting organizations that focus on improving high school retention rates and preparing students – especially those most at-risk – for college or career. We thank AT&T Foundation, and our board member, John Osborne, for connecting us together. When foundations and nonprofit visions align — we make more of an impact in our youth.
