Virtual Connections

Let’s experience amazing animals, plants, and places you can help protect! Join our new monthly Inside + Outside series created for curious kids to connect from home. When you sign up for one free experience you can attend them all!

ZOOMFARI ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS 10:00 – 10:50 am
Meet the fuzzy, scaled, furry, and feathered rescued animals with Zovargo’s educators. Kids can zoom in on the different way animals live and learn how to improve nature for everyone, big or small. Each unique animal has a story to share!

FARM ANIMAL AMBASSADORS 11:00 – 11:50 am Meet several of the adorable Sweet Farm Animal Ambassadors as we take a virtual adventure around the farm sanctuary!

BUG INSPECTOR + PROTECTOR 1:00 – 1:50 pm
Fly over for insect inspections. Butterflies, like other insects, are great hunters. They can also hide in plain sight by matching nature’s patterns. They can move fast and in all sorts of ways. Join Artist Butterfly Becca to learn how to recognize everyday bugs + insects and create a recycled art butterfly craft.
*Craft materials needed: toilet paper roll (1 per craft), scissors, tape + glue stick, paper (colored, plain, news or tissue), and colors (markers, crayons, or colored pencils).

TORTOISE MEETUP 2:00 – 2:50 pm
After a long winter’s nap, Franklin, the Desert Tortoise, will be happy to see you! San Diego County Parks and Recreation Ranger Zac will introduce Franklin as a reptile ambassador with a personality as big as his shell. Who is a tortoise and who is a turtle? What food does a tortoise eat? Find out, and more! You’ll also create a recycled art tortoise craft.
*Craft materials needed: toilet paper roll (1 per craft), scissors, tape + glue stick, paper (colored, plain, news or tissue), and colors (markers, crayons, or colored pencils).

Special Guest: County of San Diego Parks and Recreation

Funding for this series is made possible by City of Encinitas Community Grant.
