A Photographer’s Wildlife

Legacy Circle members are invited to attend our annual exclusive event. Join us for a morning courtyard breakfast, followed by an inspiring nature presentation titled. Life as a Wild Bird Photographer. The presentation will include photography and technique advice on taking great bird photographs.

Guest speaker, Ernie Cowan, is a noted photographer, lecturer, instructor and author. Ernie will captivate us with a lens on life as a Wildlife Photographer featuring stunning photography spanning his career.

Ernie began his photography career as a journalist, operated a photography studio, was a photography instructor at Palomar College and has led tours to Alaska, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Japan and Hong Kong in addition to many photography tours in the Southwest. His intimate knowledge of the Anza-Borrego Desert makes him a recognized authority on that region.

Ernie brings an astounding depth of technical knowledge along with the keen eye of a veteran outdoor photographer. He is a skilled teacher who enjoys helping photographer’s progress to the next level by mastering their technical controls as well as opening their creative eyes. He currently writes the Backyard Bird-watching column for the San Diego Union-Tribune as well as a weekly Outdoors column focusing on nature.
